WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol. It lets you access data at just over 9k/s in the form of text/graphics and some animations and games directly on you phone wire free. That means that you can check your e-mails when you don't have access to a computer and also compose your own.

WAP costs the same as a normal phone call at normally but networks such as Orange are promoting WAP by letting their customers access WAP for FREE during the weekend (Midnight Friday- Midnight Sunday)

The current Nokia handsets that support wap are:

• Nokia 6210
• Nokia 3330
• and soon to come the 8310 and 6310
